Delonix regia is the botanical name of this tree. Royal poinciana is another name it is known by. These trees bloom in summer from March to June. It is one of the most beautiful trees in Asia it is native to Madagascar. When the tree is not in bloom it has a beautiful emerald green canopy of leaves.
The tree is beautifully shaped naturally like a canopy. The fern like leaves make this tree a beauty in season and out of season. Some of the roads meant mainly for walking are lined with these trees on both sides.
This picture was taken where a whole street was lined with these trees. But the buildings there are dilapidated and no one lives there these days.
I hope this fits into Kim’s Theme by the month challenge.
