The Aukland Botanical Gardens is a truly remarkable place. Among the garden’s collections, and along the many walkways and also at the Huakaiwaka Visitor Centre, you will find the Auckland Botanic Gardens which features a permanent collection of sculptures and artworks. This growing collection was largely funded by the Friends of the Auckland Botanic Gardens and other benefactors. It is enhanced by the vision of garden creators who also incorporate their artworks into their own horticultural work. Every piece has a unique story and a particular connection to its garden surroundings. Instantly accessible to people of any age, the Bird Lady invites visitors to share her park bench, snuggle up and put an arm around her and take a photo or two. Bird Lady is us –we, are people from the land of birds.
