So instead of trying to determine the optimal background for this piece, I am just throwing abstracts at it. They are pretty interesting, though. Do you have a preference, or should I do something more representational?

which style do you prefer?

ichi

ni

I like that one on the right since it adds more flavor to the characters.
Flavor. That’s a good term for it…
I found that use of the word in the 1970s National Football League videos when former players described football players who were very colorful characters playing the game.
it’s a great word, I think I’ll steal it
Be my guest since the old school American football had its share of strange characters.
Woow, wonderful work …. I hardly decided which style is better
even your inability to decide is valuable information to me
I liked us, as I see from the comments it is more preferred. For me it is more expressive.
wild and loose brushstrokes have a nice energy
wow! this is totally bad ass
Glad to hear you like it
I picked the Ni as my choice. They are both excellent choices though.
I like that one, myself. The brushstrokes bring something nice to the table
duh, like what Carol said, this is a hard one, but I’ll go with the busier one on the right (Ni) because the main figure pops out more, instead of receding into the background.
the sharpness makes the figures pop
Both of course but I chose the one on the left. Even though the other one is cool too.
Indecision is driving me insane.
that was never my intention
I agree with Carol … On the left.
I know… just sayin’
Repeat to yourself “This is just a show, I should really just relax…”
