Central Alabama at the foot of Cheaha the tallest Mountain in Alabama sits Lake Hillabee, the watershed. the perfect fishing lake year round.
There are no gas motors allowed and you must have a permit to fish the lake, the permits are good for one year.
Growing up fishing this lake had been my favorite by far, I am a sunfish fisher-lady and this is the place to be.

I don’t fish. Period. It’s too quiet a sport for me and I don’t like cleaning fish.
I adore the peace and quiet. I do not mind cleaning fish.
I like quiet, but I like to get it on photo walks. You are a more of a hands-on person than I am. The pace of your life would kill me.
Fished in our local lake in childhood with my father. It was unforgettable!!!
I never fished as a child, I began when I was in my 20`s.
We used to fish in local lakes and streams when in Indiana. Since moving to Maryland our fishing is always in the Bay.
That is understandable, I hope I get to fish in th Florida bay soon
My old boss has a boat, and a house in the Tampa area. When we visit we go out!
Got family in P.C. Florida so I can go to the bay.
I’m more apt to fish in the river than to go to a lake because of the difference in distance. However, the lake where we usually camp is stocked with perch, so we do fish for perch there. (No bluegills have been planted, but I’m not sure why.) That lake is also not far from some streams that have rainbow and brook trout, so we fish for those, too.
I love all of those fish. One day I would like to fish all over the USA.
Growing up we all went fishing, we had our own catfish ponds and visited others as well. The good ole days.
I am not sure if I can stop going fishing, no matter how old I am 🙂
