A Wagtail

Wag tails are pretty common here and it is usually the white browed wagtail I often see. these are small birds and are known to be ground nesters. They make their nests in the lower part of the bushes.

This one seems a bit different with no white highlights on his brow. These birds  constantly wag their tails and hence the name. The feed on tiny insects on the ground. Recent studies of these birds suggests that their tail wagging is connected to (not happiness) as in dogs but to their alertness.

You see this small fella foraging for food under a tree. He didn’t seem to be fearful of the humans around . He went about his business looking for food.

  1. Birds are very beautiful and interesting animals … I like to watch them … I paint more difficult because I do not have the patience to wait for it to be alone
