Watching sunrise at Tiger Hill, Darjeeling was an option we chose. The tour conductors know what a tourist should experience and this was one such experience we were looking forward to.
We had to be up by 3 am and take that rugged journey by road a good 18 k, away from Darjeeling. Reaching there was no easy feat. The vehicle had to get higher and higher and that was not something that was achieved easily We did reach there finally and waited with bated breath to watch the rays of the sun hitting Kanchanjunga one of the highest mountains in the Himalayan Range.
But the clouds reached there faster than us and stayed put for quite awhile depriving us of the view that we had gone there for.
We returned disappointed.
