Since there are so many people at Disney World for the Thanksgiving weekend, the NCAA decided that even more people can be jammed into the city of Orlando by holding the Orlando Invitational at the HP Field House. Although this tournament is solely a tourism shill, the basketball in this tournament has been very good.
On Sunday afternoon, the #5 Maryland Terrapins will face off against the Marquette Golden Eagles for the tournament crown. Maryland has backed up their lofty preseason ranking by remaining undefeated. Marquette only has one loss this season. For the Golden Warriors, guard Markus Howard has been absolutely ridiculous in this invitational so far. In Marquette’s first round win against Davidson, Howard scored 41. To prove that the scoring outburst was not a fluke, he then scored 50 against USC in the semifinals.
This game starts at 1 PM EST, so I will be flipping back and forth between this game and the NFL games.
