The first round of the Southern Conference (SoCon) presented by General Shale begins tonight at the Harrah’s Cherokee Center in Asheville, NC. The Southern Conference is steeped in college basketball tradition because the SoCon is the oldest conference after beginning in 1921.
Although you may not hear much about this conference during the season, the conference’s teams play solid basketball. Last year, Wofford almost defeated Kentucky to reach the Sweet 16. In this tournament, every team will be looking to knock East Tennessee State from the top spot.
Here is the schedule for the first round.
#8 Samford vs #9 Virginia Military Institute (VMI) – 5 PM EST.
#7 Wofford vs #10 The Citadel – 7:30 PM EST.

Yes, the Hoosiers have to beat Wisconsin tomorrow and win their first game in the Big Ten Tournament to make it in. I don’t know what will happen because they have been so unpredictable the entire season.
the current bracket has them an 11 seed which means beat Wisconsin and they are in.
