Since these had already stopped blooming before we moved in last year, I didn’t notice that we had two huge Forsythia growing at the northern end of the house. I don’t usually care much for Forsythia but I’m glad to see any sign of spring this year!

One of my all time favorites too!
Around here, scotch broom and sagebrush take the place of the forsythia…when they finally decide to bloom. The scotch broom is an invasive species, but it is pretty.
They’re another flower that reminds me of my childhood. Our backyard was full of Forsythia & Pussywillow.
Ours were Forsythia and Magnolias mostly, but we also had a crabapple or two that bloomed in the spring.
Excellent! I love Magnolia blossoms…they remind me of Jerry Garcia 🙂
