Peleș Castle – Arms hall

Peleș Castle – Arms hall.

Like every castle you can see a collection of weapons here.

True, it’s not as impressive as in military-historical museums, but it has its own dignities.

Several mediaeval armor is placed at the entrances of the hall, as if they were guards.

Even one of them holds a sword for decapitation!

In the center of the hall is a rider. I did not have time to look at the plaque with the explanation of these armor, but they looked impressive.

The walls were placed multiple weapons and shields from different eras.

  1. Fantastic collection of arms. I especially enjoyed seeing the horse and rider all in armour gear and the door soldiers in armour gear. But what impressed me the most in this medieval castle is the ceiling in that room. It is stunning with all the blocks separated and decorated. The stained glass window is also phenomenal. This castle was well kept indeed and restored to its ancient glory. Thank you for featuring it. I tried to write comments on each individual pictures but whenever I tried Viriy would just freeze up and then I had to reload it and try again but to no avail. Sorry about that.

    • I’m really trying to tell what I heard from the tour guide and what I saw and photographed. Certainly the curators are trying to keep the castle in good condition.
