Why Is There A Low Season in Thailand?

Low season Strikes Phuket, Thailand — and the rainy season has began just now.

Low season means that there are not many tourists and the prices are quite low. And of course, less tourists means, less employment demand too. So, most people will have ‘No Job’ in this so called “Low Season”.

Some regular employees are going home to have on their corresponding provinces. Others will be lucky to get their holiday — with pay, but some are not.

Well, it is going to be a quiet a non-productive period, for us living here in Thailand.

One of the main reasons for this is the heavy rain that occurs every year from June until November. So, the visitors would prefer to come here during the summer of course.

Yes, there’s going to be a — (wet-wet phenomenon).

Actually, It’s been raining whole day already… and even the traffic congestion are getting worse too, and that was expected anywhere in Thailand already.

Reminder to all travelers:

The roads are slippery, so slow down and please be careful of the road accidents. Don’t forget to bring your raincoats and umbrellas too.

  1. Interesting. Thats a long rainy period, but I guess it would have to, to look as beautiful as it does. This is the worst time of year here as well. We call this month June Gloom. Its cold, foggy, and wet.

  2. This low season happens here in Conneaut Lake, PA. too. I live situated on a small Lake and it is predominantly a tourist town. The season just opened up for Memorial Day and business will start picking up. It’s a sad situation for jobs. What a beautiful area this is in Thailand.
