Fujiko Nakaya is the first artist to work with fog as a sculptural medium. This does not mean that she molds the medium on the basis of her own concepts. Rather, the artist collaborates subtly with water, atmosphere, air currents and time. Her mist sculptures, ephemeral in nature and requiring experience, show a certain affinity with conceptual art and Land Art, but also represent a radical shift in the history of art and technology.
The work of Nakaya realized with mist, that she considers like a means of transmission of light and shadow.
Great!
You guys have a great museum there. I love seeing your explorations of it and the surrounding sculptures.
