Auckland Central's Waterfront - New Zealand part one

I have a few photos I’ve taken from Auckland’s Central Waterfront. You start from Auckland’s Central business district and go down the road to pass through the seashore. For years, Auckland had a fun run once a year where everyone who wanted to could go for a walk or a run along the waterfront. I haven’t done this as the congestion is so bad, getting there and getting out of there is a major problem.

A lot of people like me are just content to drive next to these stunning views. Only the rich and very wealthy can afford to live here.

#1 Yacht and sky scape, Auckland’s Waterfront.

Auckland is called the "City of Sails" there are many yachts here and some people are wealthy enough to afford to buy them but that's not all. Maintenance of a yacht can cost up to $1,000.00 a month. It's not a cheap hobby.

From the road on the waterfront is a bridge that has stairs and you cross the road above by a bridge, you can visit the Parnell Baths or go further upstairs to a Parnell park and road. It's not a good place to go at night. Ok during the day.

A mysterious house on a rock that acts like a lighthouse. I often wonder if this could be a dream house. It's been here for years.

Im not sure if anyone ever visits this place. Boats go around it, it's a rocky landing.

It's a historical house and is acquainted with Rev Samuel Marsden, who wanted to convert the local Maoris to Christianity. He was known as the "Whipping " Priest and I don't think he made many converts.

Achilles Point is the end of the road, it goes up a hill and there is this view from the cliff there is a viewing platform so that you can get the views of Waitamata Harbour. Quite a few tourists come to this lookout. Achilles Point is named in memory of some soldiers who died in a war, I believe the boat was called. "Achilles"

It was an odd day one day when I saw this Waka, or Maori canoe. Some Maoris practice here for special occasions.

Okahu bay is a lot less populated and it's a lovely beach with public toilets handy with changing facilities for swimmers.

Don't be fooled by the lack of people. This beach is visited by many people, behind this are shops, a library, cafes, restaurants, and shops. Many people are very wealthy that live here.

Over the Waitemata is Mt Victoria and behind that is Rangitoto Island. A helicopter is landing nearby. There is a place where you can pay to have a helicopter flight, some people get just the rides or you pay more to get a ride and lunch. It costs a lot of money and it's very expensive.
