These photos were taken in 2014 in July. We got a special deal with a motel in Whitianga for a good price and the motel was very nice and friendly people too.
So I packed our bags and went down to Whitianga. Tairua is on the way. Tairua is opposite Pauanui, and some of us call it by a name associated with the “Nouveau Riche”, which I won’t repeat here, for diplomatic reasons. I am sure Pauanui is a nice up market place but as it is now, some of us think it fake and over the top along with the “It Crowd” , that go with the title.
Sticking to Tairua, opposite Pauanui across the water. Tairua people are ordinary and friendly, when I could not say the same of the other.
Tairua is a nice stop and a nice beach. It speaks for itself.
Its possible to stay here in a motel or home stay.
