Undefeated heavyweight prospect Jairzinho Rozenstruik stepped up in competition Saturday night at the Capitol One Arena in Washington, D.C. against kickboxing and MMA legend Alistair Overeem in a UFC event televised on ESPN. Overeem was clearly winning the fight due to a couple of takedowns and fighting intelligent against the strong striker from Suriname.
Overeem let his guard down in the last seconds of the fight, which allowed for Rozenstruik to land a left hook to the chin and a jumping right hand that split Overeem’s lip wide open. The fight was stopped immediately with four seconds to go in the fifth and last round in this main event.
To save you time on the video, the KO happens at around 7:07 in the clip.
While I really don’t enjoy the sport I know there are others who do.
It’s an acquired taste. One must like all forms of martial arts.
