Featherweight (145 lbs) Herbert Burns made his UFC debut against Nate Landwehr tonight at the PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The fight started off quickly as Landwehr was looking to push the pace. His pressure was working as he had Burns with his back on the cage. He hit Burns with a solid one-two, but became too greedy by looking for the knockout. Landwehr threw a right hook that didn’t land anywhere. The punch was too wide, which meant that Landwehr had left himself open for a counter attack.
Burns made a quick shift to his right and grabbed Landwehr’s head in a Muay Thai clinch. As soon as Burns was able to bring Landwehr’s neck down, Burns immediately threw a knee that dropped Landwehr immediately with 2:22 remaining in the opening round. Fortunately, Landwehr was able to wake up after a few seconds. Even though we are still in January, this KO will definitely be one of the best knockouts in the UFC for 2020.
My husband found this interesting. Thanks.
You are welcome. Usually, when a person is knocked out, the person usually drops pretty slow. However, he dropped immediately.
