In a UFC 247 preliminary bout at the Toyota Center in Houston, TX, Journey Newson knocked out Domingo Pilarte 38 seconds into the very first round. You could say that the right hand delivered was quite special. You could say that Pilarte forgot to do his Pilates because he was bounced rather easily.
Even though Pilarte is a southpaw with a longer reach, Newson went in with the proper game plan to win the fight. Newson through his jab with conviction while Pilarte was throwing out feeler jabs with his right hand. As Newson closed the space with the jab, he followed the jab immediately with a straight right that knocked Pilarte down to the canvas.
