Yellow Coneflower (Ratibida pinnata) is a herbaceous perrenial wildflower belonging to the Aster family (Asteraceae). It is fairly common in Illinois. It draws a lot of bees.
The photo was taken at the River Trail Nature Center which is located at 3120 Milwaukee Ave, Northbrook, Illinois. It is a forest preserve located on the Des Plaines River and part of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County.
I used a Nikon Coolpix P7700 camera to take the photo. Then I used ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate 2018 to adjust the lighting and boost the contrast and vibrance.
