Summer’s Last Gasp

With snow in the forecast for the weekend, I headed outside to snap a few, final, flower pictures before the blooms freeze. While there were still a few bees in the lavender, the brightest blossoms belonged to the Maximillian Sunflowers. While these sunflowers are significantly smaller than the traditional sunflowers that we get sunflower seeds from, they still have their charm. Since the plants flower late, they are often the last blooms that we’ll see until springtime.
