One of the neat things about Colorado is that you can escape city life relatively easily. The solitude of nature is often less than an hour drive away. Over the weekend, we took a drive up Old Stage Road just outside of Colorado Springs. The paved road turned to dirt, and the sounds of the city melted away as we meandered up the curvy mountain road. Luck for us, the weather was nice. In more inclement weather, we would not have continued to venture upward. While the dirt road was generally wide enough for two vehicles, there were a couple of spots where it narrowed to the point where only one vehicle could pass. Despite the mild weather that we’d been having, small patches of snow appeared as we climbed higher. You can check out some of the views we encountered in the pictures below.
