You knew this was going to happen. Some company was going to take advantage of the worldwide coronavirus outbreak and make a bunch of money in the process. Many people in the USA are stressed out because the medical field does not have enough coronavirus test kits due to the lack of planning.
However, Everlywell is looking to change that problem next week. Instead of waiting for hours in a makeshift drive-thru mobile testing center, you will be able to find out whether or not you have Covid-19 in less than a week. Starting this Monday, the home diagnostics company will begin to take orders for coronavirus sample collection home kit.
How much money is the test? The price will be $135 (USD).
thanks for the update and the information. 135 is a decent price in the US. Not great but ok. I wonder how many insurance companies will support it…
This will be a way better option than doing drive-thru testing. The biggest thing from the mobile testing is that the health workers doing the tests do not change gloves from person to person. Inadvertently, the health worker becomes a vector
one would hope, it also allows for a shorter shut down off the country.
I think 135 dollars is too much for such an important test.
This price is actually a bargain considering how the US health care system is found to be in lack right now. Plus, I wouldn’t want a health worker jabbing a swab all the way into my nasal cavity
There are already gaining profits …. how can an advanced country like the US have problems with one simple test … unfortunately I really don’t understand … what kind of health care do you have?
In the USA, you need to pay for your health care. Although the USA claims to be the best country in the world, the US health care system always ranks in the 20-30 range in comparison to other countries throughout the world. If people cannot afford medicine, then some people will go to Canada to get the medicine. Some people go to Cuba for surgeries. Plus, the current President has cut a majority of health care programs that keep the health care in the USA mediocre.
This is really very sad to hear …. I once heard that if you want an ambulance to take you, they look at you first if you have a regulated health insurance …
Yes, it depends. If a person is near death, then the paramedics will take the person to the hospital by ambulance. That person or that person’s family will receive a bill in the mail from the city to pay for that ambulance ride about a week later
My friend, this is free for all of us …. all these costs are borne by the state
India has still not given permission for private testing.
If push comes to shove, then keep this as a possible option in the future.
