African Violets

African Violets or Saintpaulia, are growing in my indoor garden. They are sensitive plants and must be kept at a steady temperature and lighting. Some people have a special room with fluorescent lighting just for their African Violets.

I enjoy the different colors but there is something special about the white ones. Mine have a little tinge of purple almost hidden in the tiny blooms.

Enjoy nature photography. Amateur self-taught photographer and love every minute of the photos from my yard and Dustin's garden. Sunset views from my deck are very peaceful to watch, capture and share. I have two cats, Brendel and the Dude. I share both special and funny moments I capture of them with you.

Also enjoy seeing and reading your posts from all over the world.

  1. When I saw the photo and the title I just knew that it had to be Carol. Nice to see some Africa in your garden. According to some studies from ancient Egypt, Africa comes from the root name Afru-ika which means mother land.

  2. They are beautiful.
Thanks to the flowers for maintenance.
She does not like water on the leaves and to remove the flowers.
In various colors. The pots are mostly near the window.
I think you’re also keeping African violets.
