A Daffodil in a Chicago Garden (2019-04-16 13-27-04_01)
The plant was in a tiny neighborhood garden at the corner or Wayne and Rosemont Avenues in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.
The photo was taken with a Nikon Coolpix P7700 camera. Editing was done with Luminar Flex. I cropped the image ant then used the RAW Develop filter to increase the contrast, shadows, whites, blacks and clarity and decrease the highlights. Then I added the Accent AI, Details Enhancer and Denoise filters, increased the vibrance and lowered the SmartTone.

Thank you for your kind words. I’m glad you liked it.
I want to take flower photography too
The best way to learn is by doing.
Thanks. I’m glad you liked it.
Nice lighting and a beautiful shot as always Gary.
Thanks, Carol. I’m glad you liked it.
It looks like it is fighting to stay alive.
Actually it had just opened up. Unfortunately they don’t last long and Chicago’s wind is rough on flowers.
Does the wind come up because of the lakes?
It can come from any direction depending on whether or not we are dealing with a high or low pressure center. When the wind is coming off the lake it’s much stronger near it. I live about 3/4ths of a mile from the lake and, while it gets very windy, it’s nothing like it is at my daughter’s house. She lives across the street from it. Winter is even worse.
Beautiful daffodil , It is also found in NY
Do you mean they are found there naturally or in a garden?
In the garden ……………
That’s where they are around here as well. I’m not sure where they are native to.
A very nice looking daffodil in Chicago.
Thank you. They are just starting to bloom.
Spring is here and ready to have some fun after a very bad winter.
