I am getting back on track here and active again. My mother’s health has not been good and I took a little break from this site, which was needed. As you can see, I did two posts on the letter “G” and one on “F” but managed to skip the letter “E”=.”
I have chosen the letter “E” for Egg. Eggs are a great choice for eating healthy (as long as you don’t eat too many). I raise chickens and enjoy the hobby. I have 22 hens and get enough eggs for my family and to share with other family members and also friends and neighbors.
My hens lay mainly brown eggs. The color of the eggs you get, depends on the breed of the chicken. I chose my breeds for the egg-laying ability. I have Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rock, Easter Eggers, and Buff Orpingtons. I also have a couple more breeds but just one or two of those.
We love our fresh eggs. They are so much tastier than store bought eggs. I also don’t have to worry about recall of eggs due to illness as I keep a close watch over my flock and know they are well fed and healthy. I trust my judgement there over the unknown of other living conditions and health.
Thank you for stopping by and reading this article in my Alphabet Challenge!

I’m sorry about your mother 🙁 I hope she is OK now.
There is no cure for Alheizmeir’s. She will progressively get worse.
OMG, I am so sorry. Maybe to try with some alternative medicine.
Hopefully they will find a cure in the future.
I am looking forward it will happen soon.
I hope your mother is well. How nice to have home-made eggs.
She has ALZ so every day is a new day. Some good, some bad. It’s very challenging.
Thank you very, very much!!
Nice to see you again among us, dear friend……It’s great to have home-made eggs and they are really much more delicious and have a nice yolk
Thank you for the warm welcome back! I have my mom living with us now. She was diagnosed with ALZ and that is where all my free time is going – into her care!
You are correct! They do have a better and more authentic taste!
I wish your mom as much health as possible
Thank you so very much, lado!
I love fresh eggs. I remember as a child we had some chickens, and I was always collecting fresh eggs. They certainly taste very nice.
I bet those are fond memories!
Good to have you back, Your own farm eggs will any day be better and healthier than store bought eggs. Enjoy them .
Thank you! I’m glad to be back! I don’t think I ever want to go back to store bought eggs!
my dad had a mini-farm and we used to get fresh brown eggs. they are so much better than the store eggs!
Yes they are! What all did your dad have on his mini-farm?
More than 100 apple trees, 20 =varous nut trees, chickens. pigs and cows. Also grapes,, potatoes and lots of other veggies!
Whoa, an apple orchard! That is a lot to keep up with! I had relatives who operated a dairy farm and that was always fun going to visit them.
it really was, dad was getting older (so was mom) none of the kids were living at home, so they ended up selling the mini-farm and moving back to the city. its a small city!
