Not What I Thought

We were going down to visit the grandkids because I didn’t see them last time. I did get to see them for about 30 minutes and other family members had other plans. I adjusted quickly and it made for a very long night. My husband stayed home to take care of the grandkids and I became the designated driver and care giver for the adults.

I am not complaining. I got to listen to great music and I drank more water than I have in months.

However when you get home at about 3:00 am and the works begins at 4:00, you don’t even bother with bed you simply keep going and hope that  your day doesn’t have a whole lot of bumps in the road.

I need a plan to make certain the day stays productive and there is no extra fall out from the change of plans.

#1 Late night = Long Day

Laundry is a never ending chore here and today is no different. Because of illness and hospice the beds have to be changed daily and all bedding must be washed. Yes, we have extra's and still the key is washing them as quickly as you can to make sure that people have less opportunity for illness. The beds have been changed and both washers and dryers are busy so that work is in progress. That's a plus.

#2 Learn a New Skill for Work

There is always ways to improve and things to learn. I am setting aside two hours today to work on those skills that need sharpening up in a big way!

#3 Create Your Own Happy

I am not certain if it will be reading or writing. I am certain that today I need to create my own happy and not count on anyone else contributing. Everyone seems a bit out of sorts.
