No…I’m not crazy…nor am I some kind of a serial killer that would like to do such a task with the help of the law…without it being considered a crime.
It’s just that I’ve been watching these Tv series about this matter. How legitimate is it to help someone to pass away?
Personally if I ever were to find myself in this situation, instead of suffering and also making my dear ones to suffer I would like to get to chose how and when to die…but I wouldn’t like to put myself in the position of the “killer”. It must be horrible to do such a task.
In the healthcare perspective this has always bothered me. As palliative care and mercy killing is a genuine issue in healthcare. Some of my residents opt to die because of too much pain and suffering.
It’s crazy to think about – who can really say when a person time is up. If he or she or I was in a situation where death was the only way who would be willing to take the fall. According to law it’s wrong to kill someone there have been reports on people going to jail and risking going to jail for doing something a dying loved one begged them to do. The law looks at it has taking a life is taking a life, but the law does not always show feelings.
I think you managed to cover most of the problems that come up in this situation
Nice post. No one should determined how and when another should die! People ought to die only when they have to!
