Rather than show you our house, I will show you the surroundings, and now it seems Mooney’s Bridge North Reserve is our backyard beyond our section here.
I foresaw the need to move from our Onehunga house, as Auckland has a Unitarian plan that plans to knock down houses and put up apartments as more people are coming to live in Auckland and the rising homeless people.
As we are Housing New Zealand tenants, apartments were well and truly on the way. Onehunga was more central, as Buckland’s Beach is further away and more South East Auckland. It actually is a very nice area to live in.
Speaking about the thumbnail photo. As I saw the writing on the wall that we would soon have to move 2 years ago, I began to pot a lot of my precious plants in advance. Hence we have a Welcome Gnome sitting on my Tahitian Lime tree in a pot. It actually has limes growing now and the original cutting I got for 2 trees was about 8 inches tall. Its produced many limes.
Gardening and growing your own vegetables is a wonderful way to clean the air and provide fresh food for the table. You can eat everything without fear of commercial poisons and it is much cheaper from the supermarket. You can even grow your own seeds afterwards.

#3 Raised garden bed
My brother Denis and brother in law John created this raised garden bed with my sister Felicity's and my help. It has 6 Brocolli plants and various other plants here.
During the drought the ground is as hard a rock face and the former garden has many weed flowers almost impossible to get rid of.
Wow, this is so beautiful!
