Hammered out a second ride this morning with hopes to hit 20 miles total which I did. Downtown Chicago is always a refresher for me to visit on holidays when everyone seemingly is laying low. The whole vibe is totally different in comparison to the work week. I switched things up a few times during this ride in order to keep my interest high in it as well as to stay safe.
I love the bicycle traffic signals downtown
The feeling of cycling down Michigan Ave being surrounded by skyscrapers, and the cool breeze. Yes, I love it!
Headed towards the Lakefront path
Navy Pier’s Centennial Wheel far out
I am obsessed with this portion of the Lakefront path; it is so gorgeous!
Due to Lake Michigan flooding our Lakefront path near Ohio Street Beach, I had to turnaround.

i have walked parts of that loop but not all at once!
It is one of my favorite parts of the trail.
when I was working (and staying) in downtown Chicago I walked the lake shore every single evening.
That is the best time to walk it because the energy has tone down. And there are lesser people on it in comparison to the morning and afternoon hours.
I am planning a run along the riverwalk in the near future. It will be a nice place to get some pictures of the river, bridges, and buildings surrounding the area.
We used to have a bunch of us that worked downtown, we would walk from south of Shedd to north of Navy Pier (about 3 miles one way) every day. It was so relaxing and peaceful.
My races on that course were some of the best memories. I’ve won a couple in that Soldier field area that were out and back.
Keep going, you are such an inspiration!
I will be going until I cannot go anymore
