The workout

With all of the tension right now in my city, the only place I felt comfortable running at was Fullerton Woods – Des Plaines River Trail.

Many people within our communities have been on the edge due to so many looters breaking into their businesses which has led to innocent people even being attacked.

I’m not sure where most of my upcoming workouts will be, but rest assure I would be doing some revisions to my run & bike routes and choice of trails in order to possibly avoid encountering ignorant individuals.

One of the odd things I noticed right off the bat today was that the parking lot at Sunset Bridge Meadows trailhead was empty! It gave me an un-kosher feeling during my whole entire visit to Des Plaines River Trail. I took note of every suspicious looking thing in the area which thankfully was not a problem.

The underpass has been closed off for a while now.

I navigated around a lot of fallen trees which at to the adventure of trail running.

For the first time, I encountered a deer on this trail; I will make sure to have some food with me to leave during my next visit.

I kept this run short due to humidity, but I really wanted to go at least 4 miles. When I visit Des Plaines River Trail, the goal is never to do nothing shorter than 2 miles.
