The 1960s brought a whole new style of music and dancing. Along with miniskirts and knee-high boots, sometimes referred to as go-go boots, came dances such as the Boogaloo, Twist, Monkey, Mashed Potato, Tighten Up, Freddie, Strut, Stroll, Loco-motion, Hitchhiker, Watusi, Hully Gully, Pony, Jerk, Limbo, Swim, Shimmy, the Bristol Stomp and more.
I remember doing many of these dances, as I was in my teens and early 20s during this time.
I hope the video will bring back some happy memories of the 1960s.
Do you remember any of these dances? Do you remember doing any of these dances?
Thank you for stopping by; and I hope you enjoyed this little blast from the past!
I’ve seen some educational videos about how to do the dances that are hilarious. I’m a bit young for most of these. Great songs though.
you know I dig on go go boots…
Watching these dances made me think back to my youth
The 60 seem like such an interesting period for dance, some of those dances are hilarious.
