Tiger’s Blood is the hot flavor for slushies and snow cones right now. If you go to an ice cream vendor or slushie counter, you are sure to see it on the menu. The deep red of the syrup really does look like blood when poured over shaved ice. And the taste is really unique. It’s fruity and sweet, but not too sweet. It has a bit of tanginess to it too. Really, you have to taste it to appreciate it.

So, what’s in a Tiger’s Blood slushie? The recipe varies a bit from one vendor to another. But most start out with watermelon and strawberry – and add just a hint of coconut to sweeten it up.

If this combination sounds good to you, I invite you to experiment with it at home. Or you could try an adult version, using strawberry daiquiri mix and flavored liqueurs. Check out the recipe here!

    • You could probably make a homemade one, as long as you’re careful about the portions. If you use real fruit and don’t add any sugar, it should be safe as long as the fruit is included in your usual diet.
