In brown and white – My series of photos for 16-04-2020

Every day now that we are locked is a challenge. For me, this is cooking. Before these blockade days, I used to go out for a stroll. In order not to be overwhelmed by bad thoughts and negativity, I prefer to be busy cooking. And it’s interesting how we exchange food with our neighbors. We put them in plastic bags. We hang them on the door handles. We have our signal. We knock three times and leave. When the one who comes in is distant, you open the door and take what he has left for you.

Do you have any neighbors like mine? I’m from Bulgaria. I have one Spanish family, one Russian and one Norwegian. We exchange a lot of different foods.

  1. What a delicious looking cake. We do exchange food with neighbours.

I had a party last year where my close neighbours brought with them each an item. I cooked a few in my own house. It was fun.

  2. What a great idea to share with neighbours like this…
I liked Onehunga also because we had an international neighbourhood. We had some NZ European like me, some Maori, some Pacific Islanders, Chinese, Fijian Indian and Russian.
I learned so much from all of them.
