WhenI was newly married back in the 70s, there was a small neighborhood grocery store where we shopped. It was run by a Cuban gentleman. He was always very nice to us so we were happy to support this local small business. We bought a lot of fresh produce from the shop but one thing I did not buy was papaya. I didn’t know anything about this fruit and my brand new husband never asked me to use it in a recipe. Several decades later, I’ve learned many recipes that my husband likes. Decided to learn about food and recipes neither one of us know much about. I have learned a lot about this wonderful fruit. Some say it’s a SUPER FRUIT!! There are a lot of great recipes that use PAPAYA as the main ingredient.

I think papayas are in all American grocery stores. If you’re going to try it for the first time I suggest you try a ripe one and taste it in a drink.

I don’t go with rules about certain times to eat certain things. I just eat what I eat whenever I eat it. (O.o) My husband says I have an iron stomach.

I didn’t realise you could do so much with papaya. To be honest, it’s not something I eat all that often, but I like the look of the papaya boats, easy to make too. =)

I was first exposed in Thailand and honestly, the Papaya we get in the US, are no where near what papaya should taste like
they are good, but not the same.

Not sure. But I’m thinking it makes a difference in the soil and the climate. (O.o) The pineapples from The Bahamas are not like the ones from Mexico or Hawaii.
