In my opinion an actor or actress who plays the voice of a cartoon character is one of the most underrated professions in show business.

I look at being a voice actor or actress like being an assistant coach on a major sports team that does not mentioned that often in the news stories.

Last night one of the cartoon voices who voiced the cartoon character Rocky The Flying Squirrel, Natasha Fatale, Granny From Tweety Bird and other characters in show business June Foray passed away in her home in Los Angeles at the age of 99 years of age.

I do remember the “Tweety And Sylvester” cartoons and “Rocky And Bullwinkle” when I was a child growing up in the former Canal Zone in Panama but due to my innocence of world events or the cartoon and television industry at that time, I did not know that “Rocky And Bullwinkle” may have been a parody of the Cold War era.

Maybe American gymnast Gabrielle “Gabby” Douglas who was nicknamed “The Flying Squirrel” may have her nickname based on “Rocky The Flying Squirrel” either as a form of respect or a joke of her amazing gymnastics flying ability.

My memories of the battles between Tweety Bird and Sylvester The Cat was when Granny would beat up with her umbrella or cane at Sylvester after he would swallow Tweety and Granny would yell at Sylvester to spit out the bird.

Too bad some people consider the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons too violent for children today since it is just a cartoon for crying out loud.

All I can say to the relatives of June Foray’s relatives is “Thank you for your work in the show business industry. Your fan base will miss you beyond words.”
