Cathy Yan to direct the Harley Quinn solo movie

<a href="http://www.timesnownews.com/entertainment/news/international-news/article/harley-quinn-spin-off-cathy-yan-becomes-first-asian-director-to-helm-a-hollywood-superhero-film/218478" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Source</a>

I have seen the differences in the super heroes movies that are being made to entertain their fans in recent memory.

Marvel Studios have had mostly male super heroes in their solo movies that are directed by males.

On the other hand when the first “Wonder Woman: movie was released in the summer of 2017 that was directed by Patty Jenkins who is female, the D C Entertainment Universe has decided to hire another female director to direct the “Harley Quinn” solo movie.

Her name is Cathy Yan who will be the first Asian female director to direct a female super hero movie that will star Margot Robbie as the female partner of the Joker in the Batman universe.

The interesting story is that many super hero fans are familiar with Harley Quinn. However when the subject matter comes to former Teen Titans super hero and villain “Harlequin” who is secretly Duela Dent who is the daughter of Harvey Dent who is the name of the Batman villain “Two Face”, I get a huh? reaction from the younger kids who have never heard of her.

Margot Robbie has some pull with the D C Entertainment Universe she insisted that the studio hire Cathy Yan to direct the movie since a woman director can direct a female super hero movie better than a male director directing a female super hero movie. Huh? Again?

Sure Marvel Studios has had superb success with the majority of their super hero movies that are directed by males and have had male super heroes in lead roles but D C Comics has the upper hand when they have a female super hero hit movies like “Wonder Woman”” which came out in the summer of 2017.

The rivalry between D C Studios and Marvel Studios is like the American League in Major League Baseball which has a designated hitter rule while the National League requires the pitcher of a baseball team to come to bat during the course of a baseball game which attracts the purist baseball fans better the younger baseball fans.

    • The Suicide Squad version of Harley Quinn turned me off since she dressed indecently compared to the version when she worked with the Joker in her red costume.
