Do you remember the Bring Back Our Girls campaign that started in 2014? That’s when the terrorist group Boko Haram kidnapped 276 female children from a school in Chibok, Nigeria. Many people from around the world began to tweet with the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls so that somebody would rescue these girls.
Six years later, there are still 100 girls in the clutches of Boko Haram. Over these past six years, we have proven how callous a world that we live in because these girls should all have been back at home now. However, Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has basically done nothing.
Nevertheless, we must continue to keep pressure upon the rest of the world through information. Let others know about this inactivity to bring back our girls.
Very sad situation, I hope they are home soon.
It’s sad that a solution has not been found to bring them home yet. The UN has threatened to sanction Nigeria, but that did not cause them to move. Plus, the terrorists are paying off the Nigerian military to leave them alone
So very sad to hear the terrorists are involved. I feel for the families as well.
This news should have been flashed all over the world. Apparently it was not, as I never knew about this Hopefully the International Body whoever that is should involve themselves in this task
Yup, they just waited for all of the international news to slow down about it. They would not have rescued any of the girls if there was any pressure placed upon Nigeria.
Sad. I didn’t know that. I thought it ended well for all the girls.
