Old Coca Cola Sign Over a Pepsi Dispenser (2018-07-12 16-25-31a)
A little ironic humor with the old “Ice Cold Coca Cola Sold Here” sign contrasting with the Pepsi dispenser. The photo was taken at Ken’s Diner and Grill, 3353 Dempster Street, Skokie, Illinois.
I used a Nikon Coolpix P7700 camera to take the photo and Luminar 2018 to edit it. First I straightened the image and cropped it slightly then I added the Accent-AI filter. Then I used the RAW Develop filter to lower the temperature and the tint, raise the contrast, shadows and lowered the highlights. I used the Brilliance/Warmth filter to lower the warmth and added the Structure and Denoise filters.

That would be an interesting thing to see…great photo!
It is very odd to see signs of competing soft drinks close to each other.
They just had the Coke sign because it was old. They didn’t sell it. You could only buy the Pepsi products.
Thank you for clearing it up for me.
Well done! Nice post!!!
Thanks, Georgi. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Very nice picture, I like it.
Thank you, Branka. I really appreciate it.
That is such a cool find. Love the photo Gary.
Thanks, Carol. I got a big chuckle out of it.
If you had sent the original, I would see the changes that you made.
That’s not really the purpose of the post. While I do include what I did to the photo, it’s the subject of the photo that is my main focus.
All right I understand , thank you for the answer.
Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
I should add that there are a lot of instructional videos available for Luminar.
Cute sign. You did a lot of photo editing. Can this be done with a cellphone camera too?
Yes, but there are limitations. There are a few cell phone cameras that can shoot RAW. Most just produce JPGs. You can edit a JPG but you can’t do as much as you can with a RAW file.
If you are interested in learning how to edit, I recommend you get a copy of Luminar 2018. That’s the program I use the most and it is very easy to learn. It’s available for Mac or Windows and isn’t very expensive although the price will be going up later this year.
