A road that disappears-Passage du Gois

Road that disappears-Passage du Gois-linking Burnef bay to the island of Noirmoutier, the passage du Gois is not only unique but also extremely dangerous. Twice a day, when the tide is high, long road 2.58 miles (about 4,150 meters) disappears almost four meters below the water surface. Due to this phenomenon of people it can only be used twice a day for a few hours (special inscriptions on both sides of the road informed when the road is safe for passage). However, sometimes drivers are caught quickly rising tide, but luckily for them, specially designed lifting platforms, enabling them to climb on them and wait for help
