Yesterday was such a gorgeous day, we decided to take the dogs to one of the rivers that has been dammed long ago. This river is dry most of the year, since they dammed it back in the early 1900’s. The reservoir now supplies some of the water for our town of Oceanside, CA. It used to supply all of it, but Oceanside has grown by leaps and bounds since then.
In these photos I am about 1 mile away from the ocean. This river flows into Oceanside Bay. I would of loved to see the bay and river before it was dammed and the lagoon killed.
The military closed or killed 6 lagoons in our area back during the war, to build roads on the coast.
