You tried to hurt me
I chose my freedom instead
No more hurt feelings from you
LaJenna has started a challenge titled Haiku Poetry 10-day Challenge. I am on the final Day 10 of the 10-day Challenge. No nominations, anyone can join. Start posting your thoughts. I am still learning. Photo courtesy of Pixabay.
Some of us wear our feelings on our sleeves. It is just our nature. And we are the ones who seem to get hurt the most. I have learned, and am still learning that in life, the less you take personally, the less chance you have of being hurt. We have the power to choose in any situation, even though words or actions may be meant to hurt you, to take it personally or walk away. Before you react, tell yourself you will not become the weaker person. Hold your head up and walk away. Less is more. The less said is usually better. You would not believe how good this feels. The freedom you feel when you take your own power back. Priceless.
Thanks for your comment.
Yes, I agree with that — not caring about the opinion of other people makes us less vulnerable. That is one thing I learned at an early age
Yes we all need this valuable lesson.
Very powerful and wise message!
Thank you Ellie! 🙂 Much appreciation.
Miss seeing you here Ellie.
This is a great challenge. You know how to fight to succeed. Now they decorate your home.
Yes and the challenge is over but I will continue.
Very powerful words….great haiku!
Yes powerful indeed Courtney, thank you so much!
My pleasure, I enjoyed it! 🙂
The person who wrote this spirit must have matured with experience, became wise after conquering her mind, and lived in peace for fears has passed by.
As for the quote on the photo, I could not find the author. But I know the author of the other words personally (ha!) and yes I write from past experience. Thank you Albert.
That’s great, and you’re welcome, Carol!
I have tried to give this message to a family member of mine, but she seems unreachable. I am going to show her this post. Such a wise message!
Thank you LaJenna, sometimes we are not in a position to hear certain messages. But keep trying.
There is a lot to be said about freedom.
