I ran across this photo the other day and it brought back some memories. You know how guys always have a favorite vehicle? This Jeep was my husband’s favorite and he often mentions that he wished he still had it.
He lost the Jeep when someone rear-ended him while stopped at a red light. The other driver wasn’t paying attention and smashed the Jeep to the point to where it was totaled by the insurance company. Not only was the back smashed in, but the front also because he was hit so hard he was rammed into the vehicle in front of him.
I remember the search to find this Jeep. My husband scanned the classified ads for weeks before the found “the one.” We drove out of town about a three hour drive to go look at it. He loved it and it was in pristine condition. The Jeep had been stored if a building and only driven for special occasions. This Jeep was the owner’s baby and it only went on the road for short trips into town for a hair cut or a short drive for the fun of it.
The Jeep has less that 20,000 miles on it and brand new tires. The interior was in perfect shape and not body dents or damage. My husband fell in love with it on the spot. We drove it and he didn’t jump on it but waited to discuss it with me on the way home. We both agreed that it was worth the asking price and in good shape. He called the guy back and told him he wanted it.
We went to the bank the following morning and got the money and went to pick up the Jeep. We both enjoyed this vehicle and took a trip to Florida in it. It was fun to drive and I also miss it.
Do you have a favorite vehicle? What is or was it?
I would love to own a jeep, but for now, my Malibu will do lol.
I’m eyeing the Jeep SUV next time in the market for a new vehicle. They are very solid vehicles. My daughter had a Malibu that was great for a first car! She got hit and it was totaled 🙁
I love that Jeep, Karen. I bet you miss it. My favourite car was when I had my Nissan Micra. I loved that car and really enjoyed driving it.
Oh yes, I miss it too! It was fun to drive around. I don’t remember what the Nissan Micra looked like so will be looking that one up!
Wow, I have read your bio. I am so happy to see you here. Sounds like a great little jeep.
Thank you for the warm welcome! We both loved that little Jeep.
my all-time favorite vehicle was from a long time ago. We had a Subaru station wagon when we lived in Cincinnati. We drove the heck out of that car. It was always reliable! The kids loved the car as well.
Hey there! I don’t think I have ever seen a Subaru station wagon, or not that I can recall. My favorite car was a ’68 camaro. I loved that car. I also had a ’69 camaro. I guess it would be a tie between those two. I loved them both.
they call it the outback now and made it more of a crossover.
That would make it much more popular I would think.
it rocked when we had one. But oh well that was then!
I have driven in jeeps they are fun to ride in and I love the ones that you can take the top off of. I have never had a really favorite vehicle and right now I no longer drive,
This one came off and/or down. We didn’t use it that way much. It was fun to drive! I miss it too.
It seems that this Jeep has special place in your heart, sorry to hear you lost it.
Yes, I loved it too. One thing, it was small and hubby didn’t keep a lot of junk in it. He kept it clean. With his truck, he carries around all kinds of tools and throws trash on the backseat floor. I hate that!
Jeeps are fun and I love the blue color.
Blue is his favorite color and was the color of his very first car. It was a lot of fun driving it. I miss it too!
