Friday the 13th…it is 11:11 am, and I am waiting for the Association Pest Control to drop by. Five minutes later, he showed up to check the attic, placed traps, and checked the surroundings of the townhouse. It has been quiet this week, but I think they are hiding somewhere. Last night, Gumby went inside the storage closet. I then saw him walking around by my office space as well as other areas, looking for something, which I am assuming to be mice. So, he sensed them, but he isn’t sure where they are at.
Last night, before bedtime, I checked the meetup site to notice a walking meetup for this evening. I signed up and went to bed. Meanwhile, I decided to draw another page in my graphic novel. While working on a dark page for my story, the movie Ghost World comes on the indie channel. It is kind of dark but sad movie about hopeless and frustrated people moving in circles. This movie also reminded me of the movie, Pleasantville, which is another movie about a backward society moving in circles because they are afraid of going out of their comfort zone. But the difference between these movies is that the people of Pleasantville were always happy because they felt safe, although retarded, fat, lazy and pathetic because they are stuck in the fifties. In the movie Ghost World, the characters appear to want to move on and grow, but they don’t know how or even what to do. Some tried to help each other out in order to help each other move on, but the only way they can do that is to accept the changes in their current life and get out of their comfort zone to actually make physical changes in their life. On the page that I was currently drawing, I suddenly noticed that my main character was noticing changes and dark content occurring in her current life as she walked a long pathway toward her destination and future goals. So, these two movies inspired me to color this page in a different way for descriptive storytelling purposes. I want to bring out the darkness of her situation with same dark symbolism and colors.
I stopped to make a raw vegan burrito with a carrot, some spinach and some chopped onion pieces. I also added some alfalfa sprouts. Then, I made a cup of espresso. I added some store-bought almond milk with pumpkin spice and cinnamon flavor. It gave my espresso a slightly creamy and spicy flavor. But the flavor is stronger when I make my own almond milk as well as add my own spices.
At around 5:30 pm, I drove to a local walking group meetup. It was a good 2.5-mile walk, in which I noticed the weather feel a little cool, but still nice, and the sky is getting darker at an earlier hour. I drove back home to relax and work on stuff.
My Friday the 13th was normal. Nothing weird or out of the ordinary happened. I decided to light a red, apple-cinnamon crisp tealight candle with some oregano oil, which sounds like an autumn treat.
It’s great post, your picture is cool too! 11:11, hmmm …
I drew this picture in UCI, during my last year. it was my final exam for an art class, which was take home exam. the teacher liked it because it was simple. but she gave me a B+ instead of an A because i need to work on polish and neatness. (I need to sharpen my pencil more so it comes out cleaner). it is a scene from one of my townhouse windows of the neighbor’s townhouse and upstairs window.
Well, about the results I think makes sense, but in addition to your drawing abilities, I also see that you have no trouble getting ideas around you, and that is another talent!
i think it is because of photography, and sometimes i browse in magazines for inspiration and ideas.
cool
I always see 11:11
i know, me too. i always see 11:11 and 1:11, as well as other same number sequence.
A good day and nice art!
You write really well Fifi. I loved the story, just an ordinary day! I bet you get to meet interesting people on those walks. Thank you for sharing your Friday the 13th thriller. lol
thanks. a english teacher in high school encouraged me to read more books that i like, and develop my own writing style because i used to use too much slang when i was a teen, even in school papers.
Wonderful teacher!!
