statues and sketches - omake

It seems like versus polls aren’t working right now, and I was only prepared to do one regular post and one poll today, so I’ve had to get resourceful and just pull something out of my archive…

#1 statue render

the statue render was an invaluable way to quickly determine light/dark balance in my piece, but it also served as great reference for rough sketches...

#2 rough sketch

perhaps a bit too much detail in this one, but I still like it

this is a strange technique, it almost looks like a Romanesque version...

this is one of my favorite pieces, it is called Funeral for a Mannequin. even the statue render is pretty creepy...

#5 rough sketch

but the rough sketch is much more creepy...

even though his spell has a light source here, it isn't reflected in the sketch. but I am still prepared just in case I ever do decide to implement it...

Alex these are all amazing but I have to say the funeral for Mannequins is creep-a-long-a ding dang.
