Paintdrips
At first glance there isn’t a lot of difference when drawing boys and girls. Many girls have short hair and could easily pretend to be a boy, while many boys have sweet girly features and could pretend to be girls. However I have found when drawing them there are some real differences in the pose and gesture of boys and girls. Boys tend to have deeper eyes or maybe it is the fold of skin under the eyes that seems more prominent. In any case, it is okay to draw that “bag” under the eyes of a boy while it makes a girl look “older.” Another thing is that boys have no problem with extreme gestures of the face, while girls tend to have more sweet and subtle gestures.
These are from my 100 days of children challenge where I drew one child’s face per day for 100 days.
