Sofia – transition between day and night.
Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Sofia.
The Neo-Byzantine style church serves as the cathedral church of the Patriarch of Bulgaria. While being one of the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedrals in the world, it is one of the greatest Sofia’s symbols. It is also a significant tourist attraction.
The temple is an impressive basilica with multiple domes, half-circles and small cylindrical vaults and a distinct central dome.
The bell tower with the cross is 53 m high and has 12 bells, outfitted and brought from Moscow. The largest weighs nearly 12 tonnes, and the smallest weighs 10 kg, with the total weight of all 23 tonnes.

This is comparatively new – it was built between 1882 and 1912.
