I Am Still Wandering

You  know that I was Going on a strange wander and I really didn’t get very far. (You know how that thing called life can get in the way.) Anyway I am going to march right on ahead with the next.  I hope  you enjoy wandering with me.

Santiago de Compostela

This is the place where Saint James the Great was buried. This was news to me. I didn't know that people were actually buried in the floor of these cathedrals.

The Gothic and Baroque details were additions to the building at a later time.

Winchester Cathedral

This one seems more familiar to me. I have to wonder why there has been no attempt to remove the green from the base of the statue.

This particular structure is dedicated to the Holy Trinity,Saint Peter, Saint Paul, and Saint Swithun.

  1. These huge cathedrals, basilicas museums are a feature of the rich countries that could build such buildings.
We can only admire their beauty.
And the masters who built them were real artists.

  2. I love all the old churches from anywhere and everywhere in the world. Of course Medieval architecture was prominent at one time and has influenced most church buildings even here to this day in Canada.
