St. Paul du Vence is a medieval town in France. The city walls were constructed in 1538 by King Frances I Valois. Many of the existing buildings date back to the 16th and 17th centuries.
Editing was done with ACDSee Ultimate 2019. I used the SmartErase tool to remove some dust spots, adjusted the exposure and increased the contrast, adjusted the lighting, sharpened the image and then converted to black and white adding a vignette.

Really cool picture and I almost missed the cat!
Thanks for sharing that with us. What is Smart Erase Tool?
It’s what ACDSee calls their erase tool. You use it when you want to remove something from an image.
I almost missed the cat at first. Great edit Gary. Works well in black and white.
Thanks, Carol. I had a hard time with this photo. The color slide had really deteriorated. There wasn’t much detail to work with. If I didn’t like the photo so much I would have junked it.
wonderful picture I wonder if a cat still sits on that step now?
Given that the photo was taken in 1978, if it’s still there it’s pretty useless as a pet. 🙂
i wonder if another cat had taken its place.
Now that’s a possibility
