I got introduced to potpourri when I was spending a week with a friend in the US where I was on a package holiday. I spent around 55 days of which 21 days were for the package and the rest of the days I spent with the extended family and friends.
That pleasant smell in the guest room took me to a decorative tiny pot in which was placed some dry stuff. Obviously I was curious and my friend explained to me what it was

She also told me that after a while the smell disappears and therefore she needs to spray a mild cologne or perfume over the dry stuff.
She took me to a store. I picked up the paraphernalia – potpourri, lavender perfume and a pretty looking container.
I used this for quite a long time specially for our guest room.

I sometimes have a potpourri. I didn’t know how to recover the smell. Thanks for sharing the info, now I know
It was a first time for me and I had lavender that I sprayed on it.
I believe in natural scent and pot pourirri is natural
You mean potpourri is not natural?
Our car freshener is also a set of leaves of a plant called pandan. It has a nice scent and very natural.
I know that leaf It is called biryani leaf here.
I once had a very nice potpourri with rose petals and it filled the entire room
If one has to bring back the smell one needs to put a spray on it Did you do that
Yes, I had a spray. Now I just have a natural spray that gives the room a nice refreshing scent.
I used to but allergies but a stop to it.
May be you could go for just one type such as rose petals?
