For once, it felt great being a spectator at Chicago Marathon this year instead of running it. I made it out to the 15 mile mark during my short run and just had to cheer on a few of the elite runners. I wanted to catch elites Galen Rupp, Mo Farah, Dickson Chumba, and Lawrence Cherono who were the lead runners, but I missed them because they were moving really fast. Featured is a picture of the first place female, Brigid Kosgei following closely behind her pacers who kept her well on pace for the race. In fact, Brigid did so well at this years race that she set a new marathon record of 2:14:04 breaking the previous record of 2:15:25 that was set by Paula Radcliffe in 2003 at the London Marathon, according to NRP.
As for this photo, it is shared as part of the 365 Photos Challenge.

I love the Chicago Marathon. I have watched in person a few times. Thanks for the pictures pal!!!!
It gives a runner like myself that extra inspiration, especially when I have one this weekend (Detroit Marathon).
best of luck! what is your personal best time?
She was running for real. It’s crazy that she knocked the record off by a whole minute.
With good pacers, plus her time before shattering the women’s record was pretty close to the last women’s world record. This record will most likely stand for a long long time.
