I had been sharing images of the kids swimming they were a lot younger. I do have many pictures from the next to the last (2010) we lived in Indiana. We closed the pool in early August 2011, as we moved to Maryland. There aren’t as many 2011 swimming pictures. The pictures today are of the twins when they were around 12. By 8 or 9 years old they were in the pool every single day. Funny, now they hate the pool, but back then it was really important to them. Over the years we had many different chairs alongside the pool. We also had many different types of water toys. From water canons (that shot a lot of water) to fountains there was always something in the pool.
The poor sap that had to clean the pool often had to dive into the water in the early morning hours, when it was cold and fetch toys that were stuck in the pool vacuum. Oh, wait, that poor sap was me. Between swimming, checking chlorine, shocking, and using the brush on the sections of the pool that the vacuum didn’t get was often a 2, 3 and 4-hour job. If we were having a party that weekend, the chairs also had to be cleaned. Th hot tub had to be checked, and of course, the grass had to be mowed, timed and exactly what was expected. From time to time the kids would help, and sometimes my wife would help, but for the most part, it was me, out there, cleaning.
I, in fairness, was also the least likely to go swimming in the pool. The looks of joy were worth it, for the most part. But, you do from time to time have to complain.
In this particular case, it is just the kids swimming.
Oh, the days of old! We remember what we want to recall.
A great capture here.
